Too much SPAM
I have tried to reduce the spam on several ways but it feels like carrying water to the see. I am stil thinking what to do with this blog as it is not working the way i would like it. Facebook and Hyves have taken over a lot of the daily addings. I have been working a lot on my genealogy lately and almost finisched the 7 gen tree, still have loads of pictures to scan.
Right now busy to make fotobooks from all those nice digital pictures hidding on my pc.

Lately the amount of spam is increasing a lot and i dont think i have time to keep deleting all these posts all the time. We’ll see

It is already june 23th, 2 days ago we had solstice, the longest day of the year, now we are going towards winter again Ow No the snow is just gone! But fortunately they promised us still some weeks with hot summer weather 
A strange day today, 04 this morning we drove Marianne to the airport train, she will be with her class 3 weeks in the UK, living by “strange” people, studying on a English school. She was “scared looking forward” to it.
As the weather was hot and sunny I decided it was a good day to clean the horse stables, before i can paint them, but halfway my high pressure water cleaner stopped so now I need to wait if someone can repair it. I guess the horses need to stay outside longer as 1 night :(.
Tonight we celebrate Sankthans or Jonsok, official the celebration of the birth of St John. Christianity was introduced to Norway both from UK and from the south so we have 2 names for the same celebration. As with many celebrations from the time very long before Christianity the celebration was tied towards a Christian celebration. Therefor do we celebrate the pagan summer solstice or midsummernight 2 days too late :).
The whole family will walk this afternoon to our cabin up in the woods, and we will barbecue and have a nice time.
Update (I know it took some time)
It has been a while since I updated this Blog, I have been pretty busy as a lot of things have happened. Mariannes Konfirmation, Torbjørns Russ celebration, and the end off our egg production.
We have had a long winter, when my Dutch friends arrived the end of april there was still some snow left, after which we got a explosive spring, with a lot of jobb both inside and outside.
End of a erea.
6th of may was a sad day, when they came to destroy our chickens. Usual a sad day but this time it was the last time ever, we wont continue egg production after this. There has always been chickens on our farm so we decidet to built a new chickenhouse and keep some of the chickens as hobby chickens.
Unfortunetly the person who was going to help me with building it got delayed so I was very happy my Dutch friend helped me to start it and we finisched it late the evening before it was over. We choose 10 brown/ 10 white and 1 rooster. The morning after 3 “spesial” white ones and another rooster jooined the crew :).
I had read something on the internet about hobby chickens, to find out the ideal size of egg lay boxes and roosts to sin on. I endet up with everything the did not recommand on that site :). ”Never take used chickens from a battery they are shy and aggresive, they dont know how to behave” “Lohman are breed for eggproduction and are extreme stupid” “Roosters can only go together when they grown up together”. I know I was taking a risk with adding the 2nd rooster, but the most pretty one (exteriør and sound) have a little problem with one eye so we were not sure which one was best to keep. These chickens are at the end of their egg production period and I expect that the eggproduction would have dropped and stopped after short time.
Well nothing became like expected, it is so fun to see this chickens change day by day, how they after such a short time find back to all natural behavior. They needed to learn to walk the stairs to the nighthouse, they needed to learn to keep their balance sitting on these pins,but most behavior came back automatic. They sunbath (got little sunburned as well), they sandbath, they search for food, most of them lay their eggs in the boxes, and most of them sleep inside on their sitting pin. The not natural thing is that these 2 roosters accept each other completely, they eat and sleep together, but have their own females around. The eggproduction stayed high, I still get 16-20 eggs a day but most natural this will stop for some weeks when days get shorter after 21th of june, so that they can rebuilt their reserves.
Mariannes konfirmation.
This spring was hectic organising organising the konfirmation the 9th of may. The week before my family and friends came from Holland. Little time to give all the attention I would have like to given all. Between all organizing I managed to make a 5 generation pedigree for my mom.
The konformation went well, and the party was nice. We had around 45 guests. The week after I went with my friend to our cabin in the mountains where there was still lots of snow.
Russ Celebration; Mayhem 2010
Beside the konfirmation we had too a child in the middle of his Russ celebration. The russefeiring (russ celebration) is the traditional Norwegian videregående skole (equivalent to high school) graduation ceremony. Participants in this ceremony are known as russ. The russefeiring traditionally starts on the 1st of May and ends on the 17th of May, the Norwegian national day. Participants wear coloured overalls, drive matching cars, vans, or buses, and celebrate almost continually during this period.
Russefeiring is a long standing tradition and a major cultural phenomenon in Norway. Apart from being a celebration of the imminent end of 12 or 13 years of compulsory schooling, it has also become a rite of passage into adulthood, and a farewell to classmates from the videregående skole (upper secondary school) who will now go their separate ways in search for jobs or higher education. It is therefore an extremely important period in the lives of most Norwegian adolescents.
There are several different types of russ differing in the colour of the caps and traditional uniforms most students carry during the entire russ period. The colour of the uniforms usually reflects what type of study the person is completing (see below). However, in some regions such as Stavanger, the colour is determined by the school. Typically in these areas, if the headmaster of the school was a blue russ, the students will also be blue regardless of what they are studying (vocational students will still usually be black russ).
Red (rødruss) Allmennfag (general studies) (mathematics, physics, biology, history, literature, English etc); media and communication, art, music, dance and drama; and athletics. This is by far the most common colour.
Vans (Russebiler) and buses (Russebusser) In the older days russ often traveled around in an open lorry, either used as-is or with a self-made log cabin added to the cargo area. Today, groups of russ commonly go together to buy a russ van. In eastern Norway, such as the capital Oslo, the posh suburb of Bærum, and other surrounding cities and areas, russ often choose to have a full-scale bus. Russ vans are typically 15-20 year old Volkswagen Caravelles or Chevy Vans. The vehicle is painted in their respective russ colour, either by having it professionally sprayed or with regular wall paint. Decals and other decorations are common.
The group in which my son was, was first called ubrukeli (useless) but changed the name to Mayhem2010. They worked the whole spring to clean and decorate the bus, in which the drove around some weeks from one party to the other, or just til a parking spot to make music and drink.

A little update, spring is coming :)
After a long and beautiful winter with a lot of snow and minus degrees, spring is approaching. Small flowers stick their head opp from the earth regardless if there is still more as a meter snow beside them. There has been a lot of ski trips this winter, nothing spesial hard, scaring or long, but just 4-5 km several times a week. There is still a lot of snow left but the tracks are icy and hard to go. The last week of februar we took a un prepared quick visit to Holland. Storm, rain, wet snow and dark weather :(.
I do love winters but it seems that this winter have done more damage as before. The greenhouse could not stand the weight of the snow and it looks like there have been a hurricane. The fresh air pipe on the roof has been taken by the snow which came down, and left a hudge hole in the roof. Half of the horse fences are broken down. The frame for the sun curtains are heavently bendt, the swimming pool is leaking water (proberbly some frozen pipes) etc, guess lot of work to be done when the snow is gone.
The last few days I have been busy to make a new fotobook, this time from our holiday in the carribian. I will make one from all the great holidays, one for Norway holidays with friends and last but not least one with pictures of our ancestors and genealogy. Some time is used for the preperation of Mariannes konfirmasjon 9 mai, and I still work daily on the farm.
Games, I havent been playing a lot the last weeks, some long live plants planted on Farmville, some long live fishes on Fishville, 5 minutes loggin to EL to keep account and last night 2 hours Tibia where I got my first level since 2 years ago.
In spare time I am cleaning and sorting things out, and I want to spend some more time with genealogy.
More snow and dogshow
While we still have nice weather I try to go skiing as much as possible. Saturday we went to a dogshow with Roja and Marianne did very well. Roja got 1 premie and became 3rd in the class.
Yesterday Marianne had birthday, but we will celebrate next sunday and take all 3 birthdays at once, not realy in party mood, as Bes went to hospital. Havent started a new book yet.
Games
Wat is this with games, which let you keep playing even the fun is gone. I use to play facebook’s farmville and if you wanted a spesial tractor you needed to become level 10 in Mafia Wars.
I wasn’t keen on it as I neither like Mafia or Wars, but after I got into the game it seemed quit interesting and more like a puzzle as a killing game. Now we are a week later, I am level 118, mastered several levels, millionair and own 500 houses, but than? When i started the following level i could not do a lot before a message jumped up; you need a cell phone, you need a document. The first time this was fun. After some search on the internet I found out to Master next level I need at last 360 documents and cell phones. I guess this is just the beginning and I decidet that I am not looking/buying/asking for all these phones, so I sendet some real spesials to my daughter, and pressed the little button, after which I got following message: Du har fjernet Mafia Wars. I will keep farmville a little more, but deleted/sold all items which dont belong on farms, and reduced the amount animals.
No skiing today, snow, wind and grey weather is not the most fantastic weather to go outside

Winterwonderland
Time goes fast when you are busy and I see that my Blog walks a little behind. We still have beautiful weather and I try to go skiing as often as possible. The best trips are the ones with blue sky and sunshine, though the night ones in moonshine are pretty nice as well, looking forward to the full moon in teh weekend. Beside outdoor activities I have been busy with Genealogy and wrote out a tree of our family with 5 generations. It turned out well. Now I am scanning and catalog a lot of old pictures which i want to use when I make a family book.
Reading: I finisched the 2nd book of Stieg Larsson and started the third, “Luftslottet som sprengtes”. These are hudge but very exciting books and I do find myself reading intill the small morning hours.
Last night the Beautiful old church from Hønefoss, build 1862 burned down, within half a hour nothing left.

Happy New Year
It is early morning and still dark when i wake up. The house is kosy lighted by Christmas decorations, and I light the fire. Outside it is clear weather, 70 cm snow , -15 and full moon which give a mystic admosfere. Soon the sun will shine, first on the mountains on the other side of the valley. A new day with blue sky, the snow twinkeling like thousends of diamonds, crispy when you walk on it. Winter must be the most wonderful season of the year.
Til now I have been walking, tempting to go skiing, but when farm work is done the sun is already fast on its way behind the mountains. As i am not born on skies like a real Norwegian there is still the possibility that I fall one or several times, and I am a bit scared for that. We’ll see tomorrow, for today it is too late.
Reading: Finished Forrest Carters “Little tree” and after that “You find me in the mountains” the life history about Apache Geronimo, same writer. Started with Stieg Larsson’s second book “Jente som lekte med ilden”.
Gaming: I have just harvest some vegetables on farmville. Loosing interest in playing Eternal Lands, and playing Tibia a little bit. Xan did at least POI quest, and got her own blue softboots (that was time ). It was a kind of hard to decide which of the weapons would be usefull, and I took at the end a pally bow for Marianne. I am still sorting out loads of stuff which need to be sold on Trimera.
Have been working a lot with my old PC. After backup all files, I changed the videocard, and did a clean format. Unfortunetly the blue screens, crashes, corrupt files continue so I guess it is ready for its final yourney.
